Description
Permanent repair compound - withstands 1000 F

Alvin Hi Temp Lab Metal, 24 oz., is an easy-to-use metal repair and patching compound that adheres permanently to any clean and dry metal, wood, hard plastic, glass, plaster, or porcelain surface. Recommended for applications where original Lab Metal may not withstand the extreme heat, Alvin's Hi Temp alternative is a metal repair epoxy formulated for temperatures as high as 1,000° F. Hi Temp Lab Metal can be applied straight from the can with a putty knife or similar tool and does not require any mixing or measuring. Once hardened, it can be machined, ground, filed and sanded to a smooth finish and may be coated with powder or liquid coatings. Impervious to the attack of rust, rot and mildew, Alvin Hi Temp Lab Metal is an effective solution for a multitude of repairs including molds, radiators, mufflers, duct work, foundry core boxes, industrial ovens, grills, dented metal, wood and coal burning stoves.

Hi-Temp Lab-metal MUST be used if a part is to be exposed to temperatures above 425F for more than 20 minutes in duration (or multiple high-heat exposures). Hi-Temp Lab-metal MUST be used in powder coating processes running at temperatures above 425F. Hi-Temp Lab-metal MUST be applied in thin layers (1/4 inch) and allowed to air dry for A MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS, then heat cured. This will force any remaining solvent out of the repair (about 400° F for about 1/2 hour depending on thickness of application). Instructions are guidelines for curing. Alternative cure times may be appropriate depending on the size of the application.

*Attention California Residents - Proposition 65 Warning

Shelf Life: Hi-Temp Lab-metal is guaranteed for one year in the factory-sealed can. Add Lab Solvent (as instructed) to extend storage time. Once reopened, the contents should be thoroughly stirred. Store in a cool place. Alvin Products recommends testing the product for each application. Please read the Material Safety Data Sheet prior to use.
